Nachdem ich meinen Filofax für 2016 einem kompletten Makeover unterzogen habe, stellte sich allerdings bald heraus, dass nicht alle meine Ideen haltbar waren. Nach nur ein paar Wochen in Gebrauch begann die Acryl-Farbe abzusplittern. In meinem Filofax Setup Video für 2016 habe ich euch um Rat gefragt und ganz viele tolle Vorschläge bekommen, wie man die Farbe versiegeln kann.
Filofax Makeover Part II
One product that was recommended to me the most was Mod Podge. I had never heard of this product until now, but apperently if you are into crafts and DIY it's the glue to have. It is basically an all-in-one glue, sealer and finish. It is sold in variety of styles ranging from glossy, matte, outdoor, glitter, hard coat, fabric to glow-in-the-dark, and much more.For my filofax project I decided to go with the glossy finish as I thought it would look nice with the metallic copper effect of the acrylic paint.
I started by repainting my filofax with the acrylic paint in all areas that were chipping. After I let it dry for a few minutes, I went ahead and painted the entire inside with the Mod Podge. Its texture is very liquid and therefore easy to spread. To my surprise, the glue itself is white and when applied it will stay white until it has completely dried.
After about 20 minutes the Mod Podge turned clear and left a glossy seal on top of the acrylic paint. It's even possible to give it a quick polish in order to make it shine even more.
I settled for one layer, however, multiple layers are possible. As of now, the Mod Podge seal is holding up perfectly, and I have a good feeling it will stay like that.

Filofax Makeover Teil II
Ein Produkt, das mir gleich mehrfach empfohlen wurde ist Mod Podge
. Davor hatte ich von diesem Wunderkleber noch nie gehört; wer sich allerdings fürs Basteln und DIY-Projekte interessiert, kennt das Produkt aus den USA bestimmt schon. Mod Podge ist ein Multitalent zum Kleben, Versiegeln und Lackieren. Man bekommt es in vielen verschieden Variationen mit einem glänzenden, matten, glitzerndem und sogar im Dunkeln leuchtenden Finish. Für jedes Projekt – egal ob indoor oder outdoor – gibt es den passenden Kleber. Für mein Filofax Projekt mit der kupferfarbenen Acrylfarbe mit metallischer Optik erschien mir der glossy Finish am passendsten.
Zunächst habe ich die Acrylfarbe an allen abgesplitterten Stellen aufgetragen. Nachdem die Farbe trocken war, habe ich eine großzügige Schicht Mod Podge auf der gesamten Innenseite des Filfofax aufgetragen. Die Textur ist sehr flüssig, wodurch das Produkt leicht verstrichen werden kann. Überraschenderweise ist der Kleber selbst weiß und bleibt auch so, bis er komplett getrocknet ist.
Nach ca. 20 Minuten war die Versiegelung vollständig trocken und durchsichtig. Der Finish ist wie versprochen glänzend. Wenn man will, kann man noch etwas nachhelfen, indem man das Resultat poliert – klappt wunderbar!
Ich belasse es zunächst bei einer Schicht. Mehrere Schichten Mod Podge sind laut Anwendungshinweisen allerdings auch möglich. Bisher hält die Versiegelung ausgezeichnet und ich habe ein gutes Gefühl, dass das auch so bleiben wird.
